PEACE, SILENCE AND SOLITUDE
“In peace and silence you might bath in a wonderful moment of presence that releases a feeling of satisfaction.”
There is a story behind every picture of mine. This one is called “Silence”
I had a sun overhead. The remote line of horizon was dividing the world. It was so straight like nothing else in nature. I was sitting on my own on the beach of a little island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, only few kilometers from Equator. The island was like this tiny, completely deserted bead on a string of atoll islands.
My husband Tomas was devoting himself to a research of remarkable shoals on the other side of the island. The fisherman Jason was resting patiently in his boat so I was truly by myself surrounded by nature. I watches my foot trails being washed by tide. Water was slowly coming in. The sea flew through an inlet as a river that brings shoals of fish. Everything felt so natural, wild and peaceful. It’s been all happening with solid regularity over thousands of years.
There was a weird feeling slowly empowering me. The feeling was strong, present, calm, magic…I was caving through eternity. With every breath I breathed in the sunshine and the energy of the earth. I lit it inside me. The light was traveling through my whole body. I felt connected with universe. I am just a dot on the planet Earth meaning all and nothing. I’m here and now. Bathing in a mystical moment of being. The time had stopped.
I had a similar experience in Sahara desert, in Masai’s village, at foot of Himalayas, in Australian wasteland and also many times in woods at homeland. The meditation isn’t as difficult as it might seem to be. Sometimes we meditate without even knowing it. It is essential to calm the mind, to be receptive and open. Those are the moments when the nagging thoughts are not allowed in. Often you only take four deep breaths and you are there. You will recognize it when you are there straight away. It feels like a balsam. It is good to look for the special places and moments in every day life. It is useful to stop judging and analyzing. Simply, turn off your brain and try using your senses. Couple of minutes a day is enough.
Good luck!
Lucie
